Then A Week Away!
TORK will be sending a total of 6 lifters to the 2010 Canadian
Nationals which will be taking place in Quebec on the May long weekend.
The
Competitiors representing Tork at the Nationals are, Brandon Leitch
(77), Curtis Howden (85), Chris Terner (85), Dustin Oranchuk (94), Cory
Coehoorn (105) and Jesse Martini (105+)
TORK Has A
Great Showing At Alberta Provincials!
TORK had great success at the Alberta Provincial Championships on
Saturday November 21st! The club had the most athletes, most Champions
(6), the Top lifter, and also came away with 4 new Provincial record.
It was a great competition for nearly everyone, thanks to the meet
directors and all of the volinteers. Keep up the hard work and keep
improving! Amazing Job TORK!

Tork hosted it's first open club competition on Saturday which accommodated lifters from Alberta. Many achieved personal bests in their lifts, and for some, it was a first-time experience on a competition platform. Check out the Results for more information.

Latest News : May 30, 2009 TORK Hosts 2009 Reclassification Meet  The 2009 Reclassification Meet hosted by Tork was very successful. Twenty-four athletes from across the province competed in their respective classification categories, 12 of which came from the Tork Weightlifting Club. Five of those athletes competed for their first time, and 4 of them were juniors. Yuri Dubowik and Jon Astolfi used the competition to take their practical officiating exam, and moved to a Level IV and Level III respectively. Check out the Tork Results page for more information.
Latest News : May 17, 2009 Tork at Nationals!!!  ( pictured left to right : Dustin Oranchuk, Cory Coehoorn, and Chris Terner) Congratulations to the Tork members who competed in the 2009 Senior Canadian Weightlifting Championships. Chris Terner moved up 3 spots from last year in the very competitive 85kg weight class; finishing 16th place amongst all the male competitors. Cory Coehoorn came home with a Silver medal in the 105kg class. Check out the Tork Results page for more information.
Latest News : April 23, 2009 Tork Preparing for Nationals!!!  ( pictured left to right : Cory Coehoorn, Dustin Oranchuk, Henrik Grigoryan, Chris Terner) Four Tork members will be travelling to Lake Country, BC next month to participate in the 2009 Senior Canadian Weightlifting Championships. Taking place on May 16-17th, the three Tork athletes (out of a total of five from Alberta) are currently 'loading' for the big event.

( pictured left to right : Cory Coehoorn, Henrik Grigoryan, Jon Astolfi) It was an all-metal performance for the Tork Weightlifting Club of Calgary at the 2009 Western Canadian Weightlifting Championships in Regina this past weekend. All five lifters from the club that composed the 8 member team came home with medals.

The order has been made; Tork will soon have their first ever T-Shirts which will be going on sale soon! Six members from the club going to the 2009 Western Canadian Weightlifting Championships in Regina at the end of the month will proudly be premiering a special edition of these shirts. (photo courtesy of Adrian Cadmus-Dixon) Going 4 for 6, Dustin Oranchuk finished with 108kgs in the snatch, and 133kgs in the clean and jerk to place 4th in the 94kg class at the Canadian Junior Nationals in Toronto this weekend.

After the battle was over, there could be only one victor, and only one holding pink. During a presentation ceremony for the 2008 Alberta Senior Provincial Weightlifting Championships, Dustin was awarded a surprise 'trophy' of his own.
